The Bantam Tools NextDraw™ 1117 pen plotter has an 11x17" or A3 size drawable area. This is the prime choice for artists using the Bantam Tools NextDraw™ series of drawing and handwriting machines and working with medium format. This plotter has all the power, speed, and features of the machines in this series and is optimized to strike a great balance between plottable area and size.

  • Tabloid/Ledger/A3 size drawing area.
  • Significant speed increase with updated firmware and brushless pen lift motor.
  • An auto-homing feature improves ease of use.
  • Sturdy electronics enclosure has easily accessible on-off switch, hardware pause and reset buttons, and built-in cable strain relief.
  • Central beam machined from billet 6061 aluminum with tight tolerances for increased precision and added weight for increased stability.
  • Familiar software with improved experience in Inkscape, with available command-line and python interfaces.
  • FCC certified.
  • International Edition CE certified.
  • Manufactured in New York.

The central beam is precision machined from a solid billet of 6061-T6 aluminum, anodized to a sleek black finish, adding mass exactly where needed: to the non-moving base forming the X-axis. To keep the weight light where it matters, the moving Y-axis uses a stiff and light custom aluminum extrusion.

Designed for use with paper sizes up to and including 11×17 inch ("tabloid" or "ledger") and A3. It can work with any paper up to and including that size, including envelopes, regular US letter (8 1/2 × 11 inch) or A4 (297 × 210 mm) sized paper, note cards, business cards, or a whole array of smaller items.

The drawing head extends beyond the body of the machine, making it possible to draw on flat objects bigger than the machine itself. You can set it right on top of a box to write an address or add decorations. You can even set it on top of a poster board, chalkboard, or whiteboard to draw graphics in place.

The pen holder fits a wide variety of pens, including Sharpie fine and ultra-fine point markers, most rollerball and fountain pens, whiteboard markers, etc. It can even hold a fountain pen at a proper angle of 45° to the paper. You can also use implements that aren't pens, such as pencils, chalk, charcoal, brushes, and many others.

The brushless pen-lift mechanism empowers users to use writing implements that need pressure on the paper, welcome news to lovers of ball-point pens.
